What Is Levlen?
Levlen (Levonorgestrel/Ethinyl Estradiol) is a birth control pill take function by preventing ovulation as it alters the cervical mucus and change the uterus lining.
Do Not Use Levlen If…
• Levlen is not for you if you are pregnant or suspect that you’re probably pregnant.
• Only use it 4 weeks after you gave birth
• You happen to experience blood clot before this
• Anyone older than 35 years old is advised against using Levlen
There are medicines and health supplements that are known to interact with Levlen, such as:
Aprepitant, azole antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors and penicillins will reduce its effectiveness and increase your chance of getting pregnant.
Always check with your doctor before you start using Levlen because they will be able to provide you with professional advice whether or not this birth control pill is suitable for you.
Known Side Effects After Using Levlen:
• You might experience dizziness. So do not drive on a long distance if you’re planning to consume this birth control pill.
• You might notice a dark skin patches on your face after using Levlen. Avoid excessive exposure to the sun and it is advisable that you use sunscreen to protect your skin.
• You might also develop acne, changes in appetite and breast tenderness after using Levlen.
• Other side effect includes stomach cramps, nausea, bloating, vomiting and hair loss.
Levlen is not supposed to be shared with others, so avoid sharing it with your friends or other family members.
There is very low chance of getting pregnant while you’re on Levlen, but make sure you wear protection such as condoms and spermicides when necessary as it will not protect you against HIV and AIDS.
Keep it away from children and pet for safety precaution purposes.
