What Is Yaz?
Yaz (Drospirenone/Ethinyl Estradiol) is an oral contraceptive drug that is consumed to prevent pregnancy made from combination of progesterone and estrogen. It prevent ovulation from happening and prevent pregnancy from occurring.
Yaz is also known as a treatment for premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and certain types of acne for women. Only use it to treat acne if the user is above 14 years old.
Avoid smoking if you decide to take Yaz to prevent pregnancy as it will increase the likelihood of experiencing severe heart problems. Women above 35 years old shouldn’t take this medication as it might pose threats to their health conditions.
Let your doctor know if you have high blood pressure and ask for an alternative contraceptive treatment. This is very important to ensure that you will not experience any health risk associated with the side effects developed from incompatible drug usage for your body system.
Yaz is not for people who are allergic drospirenone or ethinyl estradiol.
Yaz comes in the form of tablet and should be taken with or without food by mouth. Take it on daily basis to make sure that you will get the highest protection against pregnancy. It should be taken in the first 24 hrs of your period occur.
Possible and known side effects include but not limited to:
Breast tenderness, bloating or stomach cramps, vomiting and weight gain
Make sure you seek medical attention right away if you experience any of the following problem:
Severe allergic reaction such as rash and breathing difficulty are the signs that Yaz is not suitable for you.
Yaz is not going to protect you from sexually transmitted diseases and Aids / HIV, so make sure that you’ll use condoms and spermicides if you need it.
Keep it away from children and animals to ensure safety.
