What Is Yasmin?
Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) is a birth control pill that prevents ovulation from occurring. It also changes the uterine lining and cervical to prevent fertilized egg from getting attached on the uterus.

This oral contraceptive is not suitable for smokers and female above 35 years old as it might increase their risk of getting the side effects of using it.

Make sure to inform your doctor if you’re allergic to progestin, estrogen, or any other hormone based medications. It is important not to take any other medication such as health supplements, vitamins and pills without seeking the advice from your doctor as it might reduce the effectiveness for this birth control pill to prevent you from getting pregnant. Writing them down on a piece of paper and handing it over to your doctor will help your doctor to have a clearer understanding of your condition and how he can help you to prevent pregnancy.
You can continue to practice your normal eating habit and diet unless if your doctor advice you to change it.

Some of the side effects known to occur due to Yasmin includes but not limited to:
• Weight loss or weight gain
• Missed or painful period
• White vaginal discharge
• Black or brown skin patches

You should seek medical attention if you develop any of the following symptoms after using Yasmin:
• Severe stomach pain
• Severe headache
• Coughing up blood
Using oral contraceptives will increase the likelihood of your body to develop cancer. Make sure you check with your doctor and ask any concerns that you might want to have answers for.
Yasmin will not protect you against sexually transmitted disease and HIV / Aids, so make sure you wear condoms and spermicides for precautionary purpose when it’s needed.
Keep this pill in a vacuumed packet and away from children and animals.
